Tracked by the spirits of misfortune
I’m haunted by each bad decision
pulls me deeper in to ‘self’
all the needs I can’t get a leg up on
Start aiming my thoughts, shoot through the clouds
just one lucky shot might melt these sounds
If the sunset streets are foggy grey, that’s not up to me
You’re the lamp to my feet
But what does one do when the books not like you
do you hold on to truth, or do you hold onto your self?
wring my flesh or spin me gold, that’s not up to me
just don’t leave me be
You’re the solid rock that I stand
my reality is quick sand
this mirror is dimly lit
so my Fathers word I’ll trust over it
Creator made my eyes to see my heart to touch my blood to bleed
He knows how to work this earth lets agree not to take it personal
when life isn’t what we want lets agree to die to self
when faith doesn’t rise the dead lets consider what our faith’s in
You’re the solid rock that I stand
It’s not in where I get my bread
this mirror is dimly lit
so my Fathers word I’ll trust over it
